Ingredients for 3-Ingredient Banana Oatmeal Cookies
That’s right, all you need are three simple ingredients! No need for the eggs, sugar, butter, and flour. You just need…
- OATS
- VERY RIPE BANANAS
- NUTELLA (or any type of nut butter… peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, etc.)
You can substitute any type of nut butter that you have on hand, but I’m telling you, this homemade Nutella is what you need in your life.
Are oats gluten-free? ->
It is important to remember that not all oats are created equally when you have celiac disease. Technically, oats themselves do not contain gluten, but there is a concern that some companies process their oats in facilities that also process gluten-containing grains, which of course would pose a risk for cross-contamination. So always look for the ‘certified gluten-free’ seal on your product when you are buying oats.
How To Make Banana Oatmeal Cookies
These simple cookies come together in just one bowl! And then after a few minutes in the oven, they come out soft, chewy, and PERFECT. They are full of complex carbs, gut-friendly fiber, and healthy fats from the nut butter. Perfect for breakfast, post-workout, or a little afternoon snack!
Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2 – In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Add the nut butter (I used homemade nutella) and stir together with the bananas.
Step 3 – Next, add the oats and stir until combined.
Step 4 – Use a tbsp measurer, and scoop 2 tbsp of the dough into your hand. Roll the dough in your hands to form a ball. Place the ball on a baking sheet, and gently press the top with your fingers to flatten it a bit. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
Step 5 – Bake for 13-15 minutes, until golden brown.
