Energizing Morning Smoothie -> Chocolate v. Vanilla

Vega Protein & GreensYa’ll know how much I love my smoothie bowls, with evidence of that here, here, and here. And you also know how much I love Vega, which is the protein powder that goes in just about every single smoothie I make. It is one of my favorite brands of protein powder for so many reasons, besides the fact that it makes your smoothies taste like milkshakes.

I love everything that this company stands for, from their core values to their plant-based whole foods philosophy. When they asked me to try out a couple of their products and make a some smoothie recipes out of them, I was way too excited to share them with you guys. I have been following the story of Vega and it’s founder, Brendan Brazier, for a while now, and I just think they rock. The people on their team are amazing too! (I’m looking at you Trevor and Jaclyn!)

Today we are doing a showdown of chocolate v. vanilla, and I honestly can’t pick my favorite. They were both just too good. Both recipes are made with Vegan Protein & Greens, so not only are you getting 20g of high quality, plant-based protein, but also 2 servings of greens per serving. That’s a victory, my friends.

The chocolate version is made with a banana base for sweetness and creaminess, almond butter, and almond milk. It literally tastes like the most legit chocolate milkshake you have ever had, but there are vegetables in there! Winning.

Vega Protein & GreensChocolate Banana Almond Butter Smoothie

1 large frozen banana
1 scoop chocolate Vega Protein & Greens
1 tbsp almond butter
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
handful of ice

– Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

The vanilla version is super versatile and can be added to pretty much any fruit for an added vanilla flavored boost. I made this one with frozen peaches, spinach, maca, and almond milk. But of course I had to put it in a bowl and add ALLLL the delicious things. Blackberries, bee pollen, hemp seeds, almond butter, and whatever else your little heart desires. I like to get crazy with the toppings and pretend like I’m indulging in ice cream.

I think you guys are going to love both of these Vega products, as well as the recipes. They are full of wholesome, plant-based ingredients, so you can’t really go wrong. These energizing smoothies are going to change your morning mantra to –> but first, smoothie.

I was not compensated for this post, but I was sent product to review. All opinions are my own, and Vega truly is one of my favorites.
