Spirulina Protein Smoothie [2 ways!]
Have you guys heard of spirulina? If not, you have now! We are putting a spotlight on this superfood in today’s post.
I have been using spirulina for quite a while now, ever since I learned about the crazy good health benefits it provides. I normally toss it in my smoothies, or stir it into my green juices, so I try to use it almost every day if I can.

Sprulina has got to be one of the most nutritious foods on the planet (gram for gram), pretty much a powerhouse. It offers some type of benefit to practically every organ and health function –> it is packed with protein, vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and carotenoids.
What is spirulina?
- It is a blue-green algae that has been consumed for thousands of years for its amazing health benefits
- One of the most potent nutrient sources available
- Strengthens the immune system
- Improves the digestive system
- Lowers cholesterol
- Helps detox the body
- and more!
Seriously, I told you it was amazing. And today I teamed up with Spiral Spring Maxima Powder to create two super nutritious smoothie recipes. The reason I love Spiral Spring is because they provide a very high quality product, and they have been around for 15 years, so you know they are doing things right! They sent me a couple of their products to test out, and I was really impressed. I used the regular spirulina to make a peach green smoothie, and their chocolate powder to make a chocolate almond banana smoothie.
I want you guys to be able to enjoy the health benefits of spirulina too, so Spiral Spring is offering a 20% discount for TWK readers if you use the code ‘wheatless20‘! Yay! Let’s make some spirulina smoothies, shall we?!

What’s great about this drink is how nourishing it feels. Lemon provides a nice boost of vitamin C, honey soothes, and ginger adds a natural spiciness that feels good for digestion. Every sip feels like you’re doing something positive for your body without sacrificing taste.
