Chocolate Raspberry Protein Smoothie
I know I keep saying it, but I’m seriously hoarding the last of the summer berries right now. I’ve been putting berries in everything. I just can’t help myself.
This chocolate protein smoothie is full of raspberries and super refreshing. It tastes like a chocolate milkshake with a tangy twist. Raspberries provide you with tons of antioxidants to keep your skin and hair looking amazing, as well as fiber to keep your digestive system happy. They are pretty low in sugar, so you are basically drinking a low sugar milkshake. Score.
The ingredients for this smoothie are pretty minimal, along with the berries, I included a banana, spinach and flax. Tons of superfoods are happening today. This is the perfect post-workout shake to replenish your muscles with some protein and carbs. Enjoy the chocolate goodness!
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh (or frozen) raspberries
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 serving chocolate protein powder (or 1-2 tbsp cacao if not using protein)
- 1 tbsp flax meal
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 cup almond milk
Instructions
- Put all of the ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Girl, you need to buy a whole other freezer and freeze your summer berries!
I know, right?! I have actually already started doing that. I’m pretty sure the guy at the grocery store thought I was insane for buying 12 pints of blueberries yesterday. Oops.
Haha, I’ve also been throwing berries into everything! This smoothie looks great! Recently, I’ve been drinking (or eating?) smoothies for breakfast nearly every single day – trying to hold on to the last days of summer, I suppose.
Thanks girl! I’m with you, berries galore 🙂
Wow, thanks for this great recipe.I’m looking for new smoothies to take my maca root powder with them, and this smoothie will be great for me. And those raspberries taste absolutely great, will let know how it worked for me.
Where do you find the calorie count on your amazing receipes?
Hi Jenn, I actually don’t include the calorie count on my recipes because I don’t want my readers to get caught up in the numbers. All of my recipes are full of real, whole foods, so your body will use those calories correctly. That being said, you can easily plug my recipes into food trackers like MyFitnessPal to find the nutrition information 🙂
